ABOUT US

Gary started at his family owned workshop in Queanbeyan New South Wales in 1967 as an apprentice mechanic and spare parts interpreter, he trained under his father and uncles until qualified in 1972 and worked as a mechanic and parts salesman for Shepherd Bros Toyota, a specialist commercial franchise in Canberra ACT, highly regarded by Toyota for repairing and solving issues during warranty on all things mechanical. Winning many trips to Japan and awards for outstanding service and parts supply.

Gary purchased his father’s share of the family owned business in 1983 and worked with two uncles until the business was sold to Canberra Toyota in 1989 and Gary was general manager for Parts until 1990 and was offered a more lucrative position.

Gary then worked as Warranty manager for Esquire Saab, Audi, VW, Citroen and Hyundai until 1991 when Canberra Toyota offered him another position as Parts Rep, which he filled until 1992 and was constantly asked where people could go to get their vehicle serviced and repaired without losing a kidney, so found the existing business of which he purchased and run with his wife Sharon, employed his two sons Andrew who left in 1996 to run an independent business of his own and Simon who now excels in most mechanical knowledge and repairs and was work skills runner up two years running whilst serving his apprenticeship, and will repair most vehicles petrol, diesel and LPG and now manages and runs the business for Gary with his wife Gina, and has trained four very good apprentice mechanics in the last 11 years whilst working with Gary.

Gary’s business has three other automotive techs and his Sister Jeanette is the office manager, with his cousin Les has been with us for almost twenty years and three more highly qualified techs in Rick, Graham and Ryan.

We have customers from when the business started and now their children, and previous Shepherd Bros Toyota customers have returned to us.

We have seven vehicle hoists, Air con equipment, two diagnostic and scan devices to suit most vehicles and all technicians are trained to use. 600 square meter workshop and lock up storage.
