• BDG strongly advises replacing high-pressure fuel lines whenever injectors are changed. These lines tend to deteriorate internally after 120,000 to 150,000 km. As the steel inside the fuel lines breaks down, particles can flow directly into the injectors. Although these particles are microscopic, they can still damage your brand-new injectors. It’s similar to how water erodes rocks over time, and this process is sped up by the high pressures of the common rail fuel system.
• When replacing injectors, never bend the fuel lines to move the rocker or tappet cover, or to access any other components. Bending the fuel lines weakens them, and this often leads to cracks or leaks after the lines have been manipulated during the process of removal and replacement.
