• BDG recommends changing high-pressure fuel lines with each injector replacement. Over time, after 120,000 to 150,000 km, the steel inside the lines begins to degrade. This leads to microscopic steel particles entering the injectors, which can damage them. While the particles are only visible under a microscope, they’re still capable of harming new injectors. The effect is similar to how water erodes rocks, but the high pressure of common rail systems accelerates this wear.
• Avoid bending the fuel lines when replacing injectors or when working on components like the rocker or tappet cover. Bending them weakens the lines, often leading to cracks and leaks. The repeated manipulation of fuel lines can cause damage, so it's best to handle them with care during removal and replacement.
